Not sure why that is, but I suppose drama and negativity gets attention. I wish it wasn't that way because I really love my content to be positive. Of course there will be days that negative things are happening or happen and I always share them with you guys. But I just wish the upbeat and positive days get as many views and comments. Well in 2 weeks I can say this: your last video has over 60K views. This video has only 39K. I personally think it has a lot more to do with the title and the card then it does with the content.
A big piece of advise I can give to you as a viewer and fan, however is that clickbait and catchy titles aren’t always the best thing. It can upset your loyal fans who believe it isn’t spreading your message, or deep enthusiasts in the reptile hobby that believe your using your platform to post blasphemous titles that hurt the industry for views. I understand the justification of outreach, but if your message is positivity, and integrity then you’re title and card should reflect that. I thoroughly believe that will draw much more positive attention, and can still bring in new people to educate them vise versa.

When I see videos that are sad my natural instinct is to watch to see if there is anything I can do to help. Unfortunately there usually isn’t but sometimes I can donate to help with rescues. I enjoy the positive content much much more though because it makes me happy to see that everything is going well.

I don’t believe that is is because we are “looking” for the negative posts.
I believe it is because we are concerned, and if we see you post a negative heading, we jump in the show our support.
I try to watch every single day here in YouTube, and I click the love button in Facebook to help as much as possible.
I’ve been way hung for over a year, now, and my day isn’t as well as when I can start it with one of your videos. Even when you talk about your anxiety, you still have a very upbeat attitude. Love y’all!!

I think I watched the Ivy illness video to learn about the how, what, where & why in order to better support my own animals. I don't watch the news, ever! Perhaps the human evolution is based upon learning from others mistakes whereas less intelligent beings may have to make their own mistakes to learn by it. This would support the zeal for news & especially in an evolutionary way mean that news is biased towards negative events. I've been very anxious in the past, I've worked through the pandemic without one days sickness in an entire year & feel the stress of being expected to soldier on, no matter the cost. I've enjoyed your entertainment from Chewy & his antics through to your more recent exploits. They all need more space & interaction for their well-being, including, if not especially, your breeders in the basement.
'Quality Not Quantity' .
There are elements that I'm not keen on (such as proliferation & promotion of scale-less reptiles), but this is something for debate & not derision. Thanks for sharing your experience & knowledge as well as the beautiful animals depicted in your videos.

I think the reason the more negative ones do well is because we are so invested in watching you and when we see that there is a problem, especially with one of our favorites, we want to know. I love learning about these animals and can't wait to come see you sometime.

At least for me, I try to watch your vlog every day but sometimes I just don't have the time. But if you post a title that you deem as "negative", I'm more likely to make time to watch, not because it's negative but out of concern. Like, oh no! Which Anaconda is sick? How bad? Or when you were having a rought time I made time to watch out of concern for your well being. So, that's my comment on the issue.

People may view the negative title out of concern. Many relate to mental struggle and may not feel so alone when they see you out there expressing yourself and still being productive. It may also be curiosity but mostly concerned for you and the animals

I don’t personally gravitate to the negativity to see something bad or sad. I have come to feel close to the animals and if something is wrong I’m worried about them. I appreciate that you share everything because I think people are getting so used to the bad, sad, violent things through the media, video games, movies, etc... that they don’t realize how real life works and how they need to learn and grow. Hey Brian- Have you looked into CBD tincture for your Anxiety? My daughter did not want to take anxiety Meds from the doctor and we have really noticed a positive difference with her anxiety being not as bad now that she has been using the CBD tincture.

A friend once told me that what attacks us to news is the odd or sensational. If it's the positive news that attracts us, that would be sad cuz that means the positive is the abnormal state. Be grateful the negative is what is still abnormal! 😘

I think that maybe many people are concerned and wish there was more they could do to help. It's also therapeutic to find out that you're not on you own when it comes to things like health problems. Learning how other people cope will also be a reason for watching more closely. Of course there are always those who like to see other people suffering, going through illness or bad times. You have so many people who support you and what you do, no sense in analysing the negative side of society. 🤗

Brian your absolutely amazing, I love that you can take us on the good the bad and the ugly. You changed my life and got me over my fear of reptiles. Take us all all the adventures you can, no matter how sad they may be. You should totally take a trip to Ireland and see what animals they have.

I show up every day regardless of the thumbnail.But I think people click on the negative ones because we care about the animals and you.If we see a thumbnail with something wrong,we want to know what it is because we care.It also helps those of us who have reptiles know what to look for and how to help our own animals. I do think there is that number of people who are the rubbernecker type.....you know them the ones who almost cause an accident looking at an accident? They just look for things to eww and aww over.

Honestly, when I see a title that says something is wrong..I'm hesitant to even watch because when one struggles with depression and loves animals as much as I do, my heart gets hurt when I see something that is wrong or could be wrong..when Kusko lost Sunset, I was so sad for days! A while ago when Elvis swallowed the ball, I was so worried and sad that he was going to be in serious trouble..he is a top 5 favorite for me..Anyway, I love the positivity!! Bring on the joy! Also, I always like yours and Kuskos videos before I even watch it because I know that I will enjoy! Even on the days that are more sad..Love you all and the channel! 😁❤

I watch every day I don’t even read the title until I’ve clicked on it because I struggle with severe mental health issues and you are the first thing I watch when I wake up because you, your animals and family make me happy and it’s my way of starting my day. You’re my therapy channel.

It's crazy that you posted this today because I was just thinking about how negative stuff pulls people in and it really makes me so sad!! I really think people with anxiety issues think alot alike and we have to have happiness in our lives then try to make others happy. I believe anxiety follows people who try to bring joy to other people....we give too much of ourselves then we are the ones that suffer when people put us down for not bringing joy to them the way they wanted us to.
